PM Najib receives Union Medal from UAE

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was today conferred the Union Medal by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the highest award for a Head of State, here today.

The award, given in recognition of his contributions for enhanced bilateral ties between the two nations, was presented by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed Zayed Al Nahyan at the Mushrif Palace here.

The prime minister was earlier accorded an official welcoming ceremony at the Palace.

Najid who arrived here last night is on a three-day official visit to the capital city of the UAE, his second after assuming the premiership in April 2009.

Joining the visit is his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and several cabinet ministers, including Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohammed Nazri Abdul Aziz and Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
