Prince Charles kickstart Malaysia visit with Islamic Arts Museum

The Sultan of Perak Sultan, Nazrin Shah and The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles visited the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur earlier today as part of the Malaysian leg of the Asian Tour.
Charles and wife, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall arrived from Brunei and Singapore on Thursday and are scheduled to tour Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Sarawak and Penang during their five-day stay in Malaysia.
Sultan Nazrin and Prince Charles visited two main galleries - the calligraphy section and a section that featured a collection of miniature mosques from all over the world.
The two royalties also took the time to admire two pages from the Quran, written on velum from the 7-10th century AD on display in the calligraphy gallery.
The Sultan of Perak and Prince Charles then gathered at the atrium to exchange gifts and meet with local leaders from various organisations including Khanazah Nasional Berhad Managing Director Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar and Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin.
Both the Sultan of Perak and The Prince of Wales also took the time to admire the collection of geometric reprints and drawings from The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts.
This is Prince Charles and Camilla’s first visit to Malaysia.
The tour will highlight charities and causes close to the Prince of Wales including education, women empowerment and environmental conservation.
