U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday (March 7) refused to outline conditions for sending ground troops into Iran, saying any such move would require “a very good reason”.
Speaking to reporters en route to Miami, Florida on Air Force One, Trump initially dismissed questions about any U.S. ground troop deployments in the conflict, but hinted it was possible, adding that it would "have to be a very good reason."

"I'd be in trouble with myself if I told you that", Trump said later.
Asked whether troops were needed to secure enriched uranium at nuclear sites, Trump said it had not been discussed and “maybe we do it later,” adding the current air campaign was “just decimating them", in reference to Iran.
The U.S. and Israel have discussed sending special forces into Iran to secure its stockpile of highly enriched uranium at a later stage of the war, Axios reported, citing four people with knowledge of the discussions. The White House did not immediately comment on the report.
