Palm Cove, Australia

Only half an hour by car from Cairns, Palm Cove is an oasis of calm for couples looking for a quiet spot to cuddle. Before heading for Daintree Forest and its unique biosphere, it's worth taking some time to enjoy this long strip of white sand. It's also a recommended spot for anyone interested in diving in the Great Barrier Reef.

Barichara, Colombia

With its cobblestone streets and terracotta tile roofs, Barichara is said to be the prettiest village in Colombia. It is, in any case, a charming destination where couples can walk undisturbed through its narrow streets. And if you want to do some sightseeing, there's always the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the colonial architecture to discover.

Delft, the Netherlands

Located between The Hague and Rotterdam, the city of Delft is renowned worldwide for its expertise in blue and white pottery. It's also the birthplace of the painter Vermeer and William of Orange. There are various places of interest in the city where visitors can find out more about these famous inhabitants. And the canals and old stone bridges offer an opportunity for peaceful walks hand-in-hand.

Udaipur, India

In the state of Rajasthan, lovebirds can continue their trip from the Taj Mahal to Udaipur, said to be the most romantic town in India. Its main attraction is Lake Pichola which reflects the sunlight, projecting a rainbow of colours on the surrounding buildings, including the City Palace.

Akaroa, New Zealand

Located on the South Island's Banks Peninsula, Akaroa was briefly a French colony, some traces of which can still be seen today. The Pacific Ocean cuts deep into the village, making it seem almost like an island. Against the dramatic backdrop carved out by volcanoes, couples can swim with dolphins and go whale-spotting.

Monsaraz, Portugal

A stopping point near Spain for couples who share a love of good food. Perched on a hill, overlooking the region of Alentejo, Monsaraz is a good place to sample rustic cuisine and local wines. You can work up an appetite before dinner by walking around the olive fields and admiring the vineyards.
