14 NGOs lodge report over 'pig kissing leader' images

Fourteen non-governmental organisations (NGO) here lodged a police report Tuesday on the circulation on social media websites of images showing a top Malaysian leader being kissed by a pig.

Jaringan Kaseh Ixora chairman Zarina Ismail led representatives of the NGOs which included Putrajaya Youth Council, Putrajaya Peninsular Malay Students Association, and Putrajaya Women, Family and Community Development Council in lodging the report at the Putrajaya district police headquarters.

"The incident should not happen as it affects the sensitivity of the Muslims and also an affront to the national leader," she told reporters.

She said they would also lodge a report to the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission to urge them to track down the culprit.
