2,000 Muslims join Yasin recitation, 'doa selamat' at Masjid Negara

About 2,000 Muslims joined a 'yasin ' recitation and 'doa selamat ' ceremony in conjunction with national-level Maal Hijrah 2016/1438 celebration at Masjid Negara, Saturday night.
The ceremony began with recitation of the holy Quran of surah al-Anbiya' by the International Tilawah Al-Quran 2012 winner, Muhammad Anuar Ghazali.
It was followed by a recitation of 'doa akhir tahun' and 'doa awal tahun’, which was led by Imam Besar Masjid Negara, Tan Sri Syaikh Ismail Muhammad.
Syaikh Ismail also led the Maghrib prayer followed by the recitation of the 'yasin , 'tahlil, doa selamat ' and Isyak prayer.
Earlier, the attendees listened to a special talk titled 'Hijrah and Changes' by two speakers, Maulana Wan Helmi and Azmil Mustafa.
Maal Hijrah 1438 celebration with the theme 'Ukhwah Islamiah Asas Penyatuan Ummah' will be held at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Sunday.
A total of 105 contingents will participate in the 1.7km parade with 10,000 participants involving government and private agencies, uniformed bodies, NGOs and students. -- Bernama
