Bukit Aman Traffic Police said 33,473 of the 1.59 million warrants of arrest were settled in the first 15 days of this month.
The arrest warrants were issued to road users for failure to pay traffic summonses and failing to appear in court.
Bukit Aman Traffic chief Datuk Mohd Fuad Abdul Latiff said in a statement Saturday, that 217,048 summonses had also been settled in the same period.
According to him, the Royal Malaysian Police's payment counters for summonses remained open today and Sunday before the enforcement of 'Ops Warta' next week.
Ops Warta was launched to track down traffic offenders nationwide, who had been issued arrest warrants.
In this regard, police would mount roadblocks and conduct arrests on individuals, which included going to their workplace.
The 1.59 million is the balance of 1.8 million pending summonses, disclosed by Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar during the 'Ops Selamat 5' launched in conjunction with Aidilfitri last year.
