YAN: The plight of seven families of National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) pre-release clients, who were affected by the water surge phenomenon in the Gunung Jerai area last month has caught the agency's attention.

Deputy Home Minister II Jonathan Yasin said AADK decided to hold gotong-royong activities to clean up the affected homes, repair damaged houses and present donations to the the families today.

He said the clients comprised former trainees of the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN).

The gotong-royong activities were also held to demonstrate the AADK's concern over the fate that has befallen the clients' families, he told reporters when met at one of the victims' house here.

Jonathan said such the programme was also aimed at bringing AADK closer to the community as well as creating a drug-free society.
