Ahmad Maslan: GST will be returned to the people

Revenue from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be returned to the people via numerous programmes to help boost their income, said Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan.

Ahmad, who is also UMNO information chief, said this is because the people wanted the proceeds of GST returned to them in numerous forms.

"Programmes such as e-rezeki, which was launched previously, can help boost the income of the people," he told reporters after attending the 2015 North Zone UMNO President Cup Oratory Competition today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak would divulge the revenue collected from GST when tabling the 2016 Budget on Friday, he said.
