Ahmad Zahid urges social media users to be truthful and offer good solutions
Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called on social media users to be truthful and bold enough to highlight what is wrong but kind enough to offer good solutions for issues which need to be rectified.
He said today's society no longer accepted issues at face value.
"Today, the entire pattern and mind shift of people are geared towards getting a collaborative effort to resolve issues.
"I hope this healthy trend of being connected continues and people can blog freely, knowing what to express at the right place and time," Ahmad Zahid said at the 2014 World Bloggers and Social Media Awards Gala Dinner here Wednesday.
The gala dinner was in conjunction with the 2014 Malaysia Social Media Week from Feb 23 to 27.
Ahmad Zahid also presented world bloggers and social media awards at the dinner.
The Putrajaya Corporation won the Urban Wellbeing Engagement award while the Best Community Engagement award went to the Health Ministry.
Founder and Group chief executive officer of AirAsia Berhad Tan Sri Tony Fernandes won the Social Media Celebrity of the Year.
