All Umno branches throughout the country must hold their branch level Annual General Meetings by May 18 said Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Tengku Adnan said the more than 20,000 branches would be given a grace period (from April 1 to May 18) to complete their meetings while the date for division meetings would be announced later.
"I was instructed by the Umno Supreme Council to conduct all the branch meetings between April 1 and May 18," he told after opening the Annual General Meeting of branches under the Putrajaya Umno division, Monday.
Tengku Adnan who is also the Putrajaya Umno chief said apart from holding their AGM, branches must also beef up efforts to enroll new members and voters.
"Branches must always check and update the list of voters in their respective branches from time to time to avoid any problems during polling," he said.
