Action will be taken against anarchist youths after alleged acting aggressively and caused disturbances during the May 1 rally by some 10,000 protesters opposing to the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the police would not compromise with those trying to undermine the country’s security and public order, including trying to tarnish the country's image.
He said the group was seen to have deliberately provoked the police to cause them to act violently against them.

"Their stubbornness was apparent. The politicians only made fiery speeches but the anarchists - police must take action. They intended to give the country a bad image and to give the impression that Malaysia is not a peaceful nation.
"We have pictures of them and we have witnesses. Do not get angry if the government take action,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid was commenting on an alleged protest where a series of commotion broke out between several extremists -- who were donning the face masks -- and the police.
The group is said to have caused chaos by vandalising business premises and threw coloured smoke bombs as well disobeying some rules during the rally.
