Apple and Samsung continue to penetrate the Chinese market

Apple opened its biggest Asia store in Beijing on Saturday while Shanghai saw the launch of Samsung's latest version of Galaxy smartphones.
The latest move by the two companies is a clear sign of their eying the huge potential of the Chinese market.
The queuing outside the new Apple store stretched on for hundreds of meters, but the crowd was in a joyful mood. People were all eager to get through the door in the very first hour.
Some of the customers came from across China to experience the opening.
"I came all the way from Shanghai. Because my company is in Shanghai, and I think for my business, it's good to feel how the market reacts to the new Apple store," said Deng Jinwei, Manager of IAPPS.IM Website.
As Apple opened its biggest Asia store in Beijing; in Shanghai, Samsung launched its latest Galaxy smartphone, with a thinner model, longer battery life and an upgraded CPU.
Last month, Samsung surpassed iPhone in sales for the first time in the United States. And now, China has become their major battleground.
The smartphone business is appealing only to youngsters. So they must launch new innovative products frequently and boost their influence by opening up retail stores in landmark shopping malls.
Apple and Samsung take up a staggering 40 percent of China's market share. But what is more staggering is their profit, which accounts for 90 percent on China's market.
Beijing already has three Apple stores and the company is still looking to tap further into the huge potential of the Chinese market.
