Auditor-General's Report will be tabled in a three-part series starting this year

Series 1 and 2 of the 2012 report will be tabled in Parliament today after getting the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, while Series 3 is expected to be presented next month with the Auditor-General's Financial and Management statements of the federal ministries and departments.

According to the Auditor-General's Report today, this change is one of the four new Government Transformation Programme (GTP) 2.0 initiatives under the National Key Results Area (NKRA) in relation to combating corruption.

This presentation format is aimed at enabling speedier follow-up action and improvements on the issues raised by the audit.

Another initiative under the NKRA is the Auditor General's online Dashboard, launched by the Chief Secretary to the Government on May 30, which will go live today.

The dashboard allows the public access to the status of follow-up action on the issues raised from the 2011 audit report onwards.

The Auditor-General's statement further outlined the other two NKRA initiatives, namely the setting up of an action committee and Putrajaya Inquisition.

The task of the action committee, which is chaired by the Auditor-General, is to ensure that suspected corruption cases identified in the audit report are investigated, while the Putrajaya Inquisition, chaired by the Prime Minister, will handle overdue cases which have yet to be resolved.

The Series 1 and 2 of the Auditor-General's Report 2012 involved 121 performance audits and 49 audits of government corporations management at the federal and state levels.
