Aunts finds missing niece in 100-year-old well

The body of a woman reported missing five days ago was found floating in a 100-year-old well near her auntie's house in Kampung Charok Mokkan, Hosba near here today.

The body of Latifah An, 50, who had been depressed after both her parents passed away was found about 7.30 am by her aunty Siti Rosni Arif, 58.

"I was sweeping outside the house this morning when I smelled something bad from the direction of the well. I saw a body in red clothes floating inside," she told reporters.

Siti Rosni said Latifah was single and lived with her sister and brother-in-law about one kilometre away.

Meanwhile, Kubang Pasu police chief Supt Ibrahim Mohd Yusof confirmed receiving a report on the discovery and said the case has been classified as sudden death.
