Bersih 4 organisers asked the police to take action against its participants who disobey the rules that they have set.
The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) said they will request for police assistance if the rally goes out of control.
Steering committee member Thomas Fann admitted there were attempts of provocations by its participants but managed to handle the situation.
He said the provocation occurred when a group of Bersih participants pushed the barricade placed by the police in front of Sultan Abdul Samad building.
"We just want a peaceful rally and we will try to control the situation," he told a police officer who was standing behind the barricade.
The officers, known as Gorbinder said it was the organiser’s responsibility to ensure that no one remained in that restricted area.
Responding to this, Thomas said there were participants who just refused to listen.
However, he promised that the organisers will make sure that the 34-hour rally will run peacefully and that they will not litter the area.
Earlier, Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah said the coalition condemned any act of vandalism towards public property or even engage in violent acts and provocation.
She also strictly prohibited participants from bringing any form of explosions or firearms, including smoke bomnbs during the rally.
