Body found floating in IWK sewage treatment pond in Seberang Jaya

The body of a man was found floating in an Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) sewage treatment pond in Jalan Jelawat, Seberang Jaya, Tuesday.

Seberang Perai Tengah police chief, ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said the body of an unidentified man, believed to be in his 50s, was found by members of the public at 2.30 pm. "Our initial investigation found no signs of injury on the dead man, clad in dark pants and black T-shirt," he said.

He said police also found a bicycle near the treatment pond and the body was sent to Seberang Jaya Hospital.

Rusli urged members of the public with information on the incident or with a missing family member or friend to contact the nearest police station to facilitate investigations.
