The body of French tourist, Jerome Philippe Laurent, who was reported missing in Pulau Tioman since Tuesday, was found by a search-and-rescue team at 2.16pm Thursday.
Rompin district police chief, DSP Johari Jahaya said the body of the 24-year-old was found about 300 metres from where he was reported missing.
"A friend of the victim has identified the body which will be sent to Rompin Hospital for a post-mortem," he told Bernama here Thursday.
Laurent was reported missing after going out snorkelling in front of the Berjaya Resort Tioman on the island at about 3pm on Tuesday.
His disappearance was realised after he failed to return that evening to the chalet where he was staying, before a police report was lodged.
