Close call for mobile phone trader shot in his home

A mobile phone trader had a narrow escape when two helmeted assailants burst into his home in Taman Pondok Labu here about 8 last night and one of them fired a shot at him.

Kulim deputy police chief DSP Chin Soo Song said the 26-year-old victim was with his family at the time.

"The two men in helmets burst into the house, fired a shot which hit the victim's left shoulder and fled on a motorbike. He was critically injured but is reportedly stable now," Chin told Bernama today.

Police have yet to discover the bullet casing or ascertain the motive for the shooting, he added.
