Couple dies after lorry rams trailer lorry

A married couple was killed after the lorry they were travelling in rammed into the rear of a trailer lorry at Km156.4 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) near Jawi here early today.
Teoh Beng Koon, 61, and his wife, Low Kuan Tai, 58, who were pinned to their seats, died at the scene in the 1.10 am incident.
Seberang Perai Selatan Police chief Supt Shafee Abd Samad said the couple was on their way home to Ipoh, Perak, after delivering goods in Penang.
"Fire and Rescue Department personnel took about 30 minutes to retrieve their bodies from the vehicle. The 45-year-old driver of the trailer lorry escaped injury," he said.
The bodies were sent to the Sungai Bakap Hospital.
