Court extends period for Najib to file defence against Mahathir's suit
Counsel Tan Sri Cecil Abraham represented Najib in the case.
The High Court today extended to June 9 the period for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to file his defence against the suit alleging misconduct involving 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) brought by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and two others.
Judge Abu Bakar Jais had earlier fixed June 2 as the date.
Counsel Tan Sri Cecil Abraham represented Najib while Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla appeared for Dr Mahathir, former Batu Kawan UMNO Division vice-chief Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan and former Langkawi Wanita UMNO member Anina Saadudin.
Mahathir, 90, Khairuddin, 54, and Anina, 41, filed the suit on March 23.
