“Two imported cases were reported in Selangor, having been infected abroad, namely, in the Philippines and Egypt, also involving Malaysians,” he said in a press conference on the development of COVID-19 here today.
He said that there were 16 cases which had recovered from COVID-19 today, bringing the cumulative number of cases that had fully recovered to 8,994 cases (96.8 per cent of the total cases).
“To date, there are eight COVID-19 positive cases being treated in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), of which six cases require respiratory assistance,” he said.
Dr Noor Hisham said that there was no increase in COVID-19 related deaths reported today, therefore, the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia remained at 125 which is 1.34 per cent of the total number of cases.
