Five new COVID-19 clusters were identified today in Sabah, Selangor, Penang and Kuala Lumpur, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. - foto BERNAMA
PUTRAJAYA:Five new COVID-19 clusters were identified today in Sabah, Selangor, Penang and Kuala Lumpur, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said the Sutera Cluster in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah involved two index cases tested positive for COVID-19 from the screening of symptomatic individuals on Nov 2.
"As of noon today, a total of 32 people from this cluster have been screened with 15 positive cases, six negative while 11 individuals are still waiting for results," he told a press conference here.
Dr Noor Hisham said the Ria-30 Cluster was detected in Tuaran from community screening since Nov 2.
He said close contact screening for the cluster detected 11 more positive COVID-19 cases and all individuals were treated at the Low Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre in Sepanggar.
Dr Noor Hisham said the Tamar Cluster was identified in Petaling, Selangor where close contact screening detected 10 positive COVID-19 cases.
"The index case for this cluster was detected positive as a result of the screening of symptomatic individuals on Nov 1 and has been admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital," he said.
He said the Intan Cluster in Timur Laut district, Penang, which involved a non-citizen, was identified following COVID-19 screening conducted before returning to the country of origin on Oct 29.
The cluster close contact screening detected nine positive cases from a total of 98 individuals screened.
For the Danau Cluster here, he said a total of eight positive cases were identified from 82 individuals screened.
A total of 40 people were tested negative while another 34 are still awaiting results.
