COVID-19: Malaysia reports 1,937 new cases, nine deaths
A total of 911 patients recovered and were discharged bringing the cumulative number to 68,084 recoveries.
KUALA LUMPUR:Malaysia recorded a total of 1,937 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 82,246 cases.
According to the Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, out of the total, there were two imported cases reported of returnees from abroad.
"Active cases with COVID-19 infection is now at 13,751 cases," he said in a media statement on Saturday.
Selangor still recorded the highest number of cases with 823 cases followed by Sabah with 429 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 238 cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said there is an increase of nine new COVID-19 deaths bringing the total number of death cases to 411.
To date, there are 121 patients undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Of which, 66 patients require respiratory assistance.
The country also recorded an increase in recoveries with 911 cases, bringing the cumulative number of those recovered and discharged to 68,084 cases.
