Malaysia records another COVID-19 death, bringing the total number of fatalities to 11, says Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The deceased was a 70-year-old male (Case-1070) with a history of chronic illness. He had been to Indonesia last month. The Health Ministry was informed that he is also a chairman of a surau in his residential neighbourhood.
The patient showed symptoms for a week before being admitted to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM on 18 March 2020.
“He tested positive for COVID-19 on 19 March 2020 and was on breathing assistance support in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition deteriorated day after day and he was pronounced dead on 22 March 2020 at 9.05pm,” says Noor Hisham in a statement on Facebook.
