Damansara brawl: Suspect has no links with Home Ministry
He alleged that the suspects had also pushed and hit his seven-year-old child, wife and mother.
Police today confirmed that the suspect involved in the Damansara brawl yesterday has no links with the Home Ministry as alleged.
Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Zani Che Din who confirmed the incident at Mutiara Damansara however refused to comment further on the motive of the fight.
"I cannot comment further because we are still investigating the matter," he told Astro AWANI when contacted today.
"No, no... He is not someone with links with the Home Ministry. So far, we can only confirm that. That's all," he said.
He said the five suspects detained yesterday have been released on police bail this morning.
The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting.
In the incident at about 3.30pm, the victim Mohd Adli Effendy Mohd Zaki alleged that he was beaten by a group of five men resulting in injuries on his face, body, eyes and legs.
He alleged that the suspects had also pushed and hit his seven-year-old child, wife and mother.
In his police report, the victim said the suspects had tried to drag and force his child into a car, allegedly to take the child back to his ex-wife.
The victim also claimed that one of the five men told him that he was a special officer to the Home Ministry deputy minister and had threaten to shoot the victim and his wife.
