Datuk Tee: I am now hanging without a rope
I am now ‘hanging without a rope’.
These are the exact words that were used by MCA national organising secretary and Pulai Sebatang assemblyman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, who was among the nine state executive councillors sworn in as the Johor Exco on May 14.
Following that incident, MCA, in its party's central committee meeting on Thurday, decided that Tee will be referred to the MCA Disciplinary Board.
“As a MCA member, I have to accept the decision of the party’s leadership. I am now ‘hanging without a rope’. I do not have the power to defend myself.
“I don’t have any choice. I am a true Johorean and I hold on strongly to the principles of Rukun Negara, loyalty to the King and the country.
“I only took orders from the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar,” he told Astro Awani.
Tee, who had been a MCA member for the past 30 years, said, to date, he has not received any notification to meet up with the party’s Disciplinary Board.
However, MCA was allocated one seat in state executive council line-up in accordance with a special request made by the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar to have a Chinese representative.
On Monday, MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek also said Tee would be taking a leave of absence from all of the party functions at all levels.
