Don't politicise missing MH370 - Kurup

The disappearance of Flight MH370 should not be politicised by any parties, stressed Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.

He said the people should instead unite as one community to pray that the teams involved in the search and rescue for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane would finally accomplish their mission.

"Under the Promotion of Mutual Understanding and Harmony Among Religious Adherents (JKMPKA) Committee, we have also organised prayer sessions participated by people of different faiths for this intention," he said at a luncheon to mark 'Tao Day' organised by the Federation of Taoist Associations Malaysia here Sunday.

The plane carrying 239 passengers and crew was heading to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur when it was reported missing early morning on March 8.

Kurup said Malaysians must be vigilant against irresponsible elements that sought to undermine peace, harmony, religious tolerance and political stability in the country.

He said it was incumbent on all parties including religious institutions and organisations to ward off such elements.
