DUKE crash: Familia Myvi Club can be deregistered if involved- RoS
The accident at DUKE early Saturday claimed the lives of death of Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35, his wife Nova Safitri Azhari, 25, and their seven-month-old daughter, Nur Firuza Annisa.
Familia Myvi Club (FMC) registration can be revoked if police investigation finds it directly involved in the accident on Lebuh Raya Duta-Ulu Klang (DUKE), last Saturday, said Registrar of Societies (RoS).
RoS director Datuk Mohamad Razin Abdullah told the Sinar Harian that the motoring club’s registration can be revoked if it had broken laws.
However, he clarified that the club cannot be held responsible if illegal racing had taken place without the knowledge of the club.
“All clubs and bodies registered with us must go through stringent checks as we will check their application as well as purpose of its establishment,” Mohamad Razin told the Malay daily.
“If the application is found to be against the law or that could disrupt public peace, then it will not be approved by the RoS,” he said.

The accident at DUKE early Saturday claimed the lives of death of Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35, his wife Nova Safitri Azhari, 25, and their seven-month-old daughter, Nur Firuza Annisa.
Initial investigations revealed the Mitsubishi Pajero the family were travelling in was hit by a Perodua Myvi from the right, causing Fairuz Nizam to lose control of the vehicle before crashing into another an oncoming Myvi.
The impact caused the four-wheel drive to spin and overturned several times causing the three of them thrown out of the vehicle.
Fairuz died at the scene while his wife and daughter succumbed to their injuries at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).
