Ex-Terengganu MB defects from UMNO
Ahmad Said resigned from his post as Terengganu MB and from Umno on the same day.
Just hours after Datuk Seri Ahmad Said resigned as Terengganu Menteri Besar, he defected from UMNO.
This was made known via an email that he sent to Astro AWANI late Monday night, attached with a letter noting his resignation from UMNO.

The Kijal assemblyman has now declared himself as an independent.
Meanwhile, another UMNO assemblyman Ghazali Taib has also apparently defected from the party. The Ajil assemblyman has also declared himself an independent.

It is understood that these two resignations might cause a change in the state government; as of right now, Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat each have 15 state seats out of the total 32.
Both resignations came just mere hours after Seberang Takir assemblyman Datuk Abdul Razif Abdul Rahman was sworn in as the new Terengganu Menteri Besar.
The ceremony took place at the Istana Syarqiyyah in Terengganu at 8.30pm.
