KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) will be selling up to three tonnes of Harumanis mangoes through their eFAMAPLACE microsite on Shopee, with discounts up to 40 per cent as well as free shipping.
In a statement today, the agency said the sale, which began yesterday, was initiated to help the Harumanis farmers to market the mangoes, which are currently in season.
"So far, 28 tonnes of Harumanis mangoes have already been sold through e-commerce platforms such as Agrobazaar Online and Shopee. Sales of Harumanis this year are expected to reach RM66.7 million.
"This move coincides with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, as well as FAMA's Riang Ria Raya campaign on Shopee, currently ongoing until May 31.
"The month-long campaign aims to boost and promote fresh produce, manufactured food and products by local small- and medium-scale enterprises all over Malaysia," it said.
