Felda's Fauzi Saari badly injured in fatal accident
Felda United midfielder, Ahmad Fauzi Saari was badly injured after he was involved in a fatal accident at KM407.5 of the North-South Expressway (Plus) near Tanjung Malim early Sunday morning.
Hulu Selangor district police chief, Supt Norel Azmi Yahya Affendi said the incident occurred at 1.40am when the BMW car driven by Ahmad's friend was heading to the north rammed a road divider before it caught fire.
“As it approached a sharp bend of the expressway near Tanjung Malim, the driver suddenly lost control of the car and rammed into the divider. The car then caught fire,” said Norel.
Ahmad Fauzi, 30 sustained a broken right hand. The driver was identified as Muhammad Khairul Adnan Zakaria, 26. Muhammad Khairul sustained injuries on his head and died at the scene of the accident.
“We believed the personal documents of the driver (Muhammad Khairul) have been destroyed by fire that occurred during the accident,” he said.
Both Ahmad Fauzi and the body of Muhammad Khairul were taken to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital.
The Kulim-born Ahmad Fauzi Saari enjoyed stints with Kedah and Johor FC before plying his trade with Felda United this season.
