Flood prone Beaufort need food supply storage urgently

Construction of a food supply storage in regard to Beaufort's flood contingency plan must be expedited, said its district officer.

Mohd Shahid Othman said the site for the building had already been identified and it was urgently necessary for the authority concerned to complete the design plan quickly for construction to begin.

"It would be built in Kampung Selagon. For two years now, we have been using part of the Public Works Department's premises to store the food supplies," he told reporters when met here today.

Beaufort is a flood prone area.
