Flood situation improves in Kedah, more evacuees returning home
The flood situation in Kedah with more evacuees returning home, leaving only 146 people at the relief centres as at 8am today. - APM
ALOR SETAR: The flood situation in Kedah with more evacuees returning home, leaving only 146 people at the relief centres as at 8 am today from 161 people yesterday.
Kedah Civil Defence Force (APM) Disaster Management Committee Secretariat head Major (PA) Mohd Muaz Mohd Yusof said the evacuees were at three PPS in the Pendang and Kubang Pasu districts..
"A total of 85 people from 19 families are at the PPS at Dewan Rakan Sukan, Tanah Merah, which was first activated on Oct 24 in the Pendang district.
"Another PPS in the Pendang district is Dewan Cenderawasih which was first activated on Nov 2 and accommodates 39 people from 15 families," he said in a statement today.
Mohd Muaz said in the Kubang Pasu district, a total of 22 people from four families were still at the PPS at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Malau.
