Individuals nicknamed Tok Anjang, Shap, Lekir and Rambo are among 14 football fans currently hunted by police in connection with the ruckus at Shah Alam Stadium during the 2018 World Cup/2019 Asian Cup Qualifying match last Tuesday.

Shah Alam police chief, ACP Shafien Mamat said the four are believed to be the culprits behind the incident that saw the match being halted at the 88th minute.

The four are believed to be part of the Ultras Selangor fan group.

“Tok Anjang and Shap are believed to be leaders of the Ultras Selangor.

“We are calling them to come forward to give their statements. Based on the information we received, these two are apparently the mastermind behind the ruckus,” said Shafien.


Meanwhile, in a separate media conference, Selangor police chief, Datuk Abdul Samah said the police have established a special team to trace all the culprits involved in the unruly event.

The team is led by Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief, Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah.

The team would also be probing who is responsible for bringing the fireworks and flares into the stadium, and how.

Investigations are currently ongoing by studying the recordings of the incident from the police, media and members of the public.

Abdul Samah also clarified that to date, there has been no reports lodged by Arab Saudi fans regarding any assault on them by any Harimau Malaya supporters during the incident.

Last Tuesday night, 11 local football fans were arrested following their suspected involvement in the ruckus.

They were remanded for three days from Wednesday to facilitate investigations.
