Girl, 6, falls to her death at KL shopping mall

A six-year-old girl fell to her death from the second floor of the Kenanga Wholesale City shopping mall around 3pm today.

The victim, Nurhayada Sofia Musa, had been playing near the escalators when the incident occurred at 3.04pm, Bernama reported.

Quoting Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainol Samah, the report said the girl died on the spot due to severe head injuries.

"The actual cause of the incident is still under investigation. Initial probe found no signs of foul play," Zainol told the national news agency.

Nurhayada Sofia's body has been taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem, the report added.

The case has been classified as sudden death.

Earlier, Harian Metro reported that Nurhayada Sofia had went to the mall with her parents. The report said she fell from the second floor to the car park area, five floors down.
