Give time to Najib to solve 1MDB issues - Mas Ermieyati

Puteri UMNO has called on all quarters to give support and put their trust on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to solve the issues concerning 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

"As he said before, give him time and trust him when he said that he will solve the issues of 1MDB in six months," Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin told reporters after opening the Kota Baharu Puteri UMNO delegates meeting here, Friday.

Najib had, on Aug 1, said that the government had a plan to reduce the debt burden of 1MDB and needed six months to turn around the government investment company.

In fact, he said several foreign parties had expressed interest to invest in 1MDB projects, indicating value of the company's assets.

Meanwhile, Mas Ermieyati said Puteri UMNO was in the midst of formulating a proper operation plan in a bid to counter opposition attack.

"I have called all state Puteri UMNO chiefs for a meeting and formulate an operation plan to go to the ground and to solve all issues and allegations hurled at UMNO and the prime minister," she said.

The Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister also said that she would use the ongoing UMNO division meetings as the platform to explain about those issues.
