Haze: Air quality in Port Klang improves but still at unhealthy levels
The Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in several areas as at 6am today dropped to ‘unhealthy’ levels from ‘very unhealthy’ recorded yesterday.
Only nine areas recorded unhealthy API readings compared to 14 areas late last night where most of them were located in Selangor and the Klang Valley.
At 10pm on Friday, the API readings in Port Klang had reached ‘unhealthy levels’ at 229.
This morning the API readings at Port Klang were still the highest at 192.
Banting and Shah Alam recorded API readings of 147 and 131 respectively.
API readings in Petaling Jaya had also dropped to 131 followed by Batu Muda (111) and Cheras (102).
Tanjung Malim in Perak recorded an API reading of 145 while Nilai and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan also recorded a drop in API levels compared to yesterday.
