Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has asserted that the Perikatan Nasional government (PN) is still strong and that he is still the legitimate Prime Minister.
In a media statement on Wednesday, he said the statement by PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who claimed to have the support of the majority of MPs to form a government was purely allegations.
"I take note of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's statement claiming that he has the support of the majority of Dewan Rakyat members to form a government.
"This allegation must be proven in accordance with the process and methods determined by the Federal Constitution. Without going through the process, Datuk Seri Anwar's statement is merely an allegation.
"Until proven otherwise, the Perikatan Nasional Government (PN) is still standing firm and I am the legitimate Prime Minister," he said.
Meanwhile, he asked the people to calm down in the face of the situation and was confident that the issue would be resolved well in accordance with the legal and constitutional process.
