Muhyiddin submits application for new party


If approved, the new party – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) – will see the former deputy prime minister as president and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as chairman.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10

Pandelela, Jun Hoong clinch Malaysia's first medal in Rio

Malaysia wins the first medal in the Rio Olympic Games after diving pair, Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong won the silver medal at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre.

FFM28: Finas scraps 3 categories, creates new best film category


The Malaysia National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) scrapped three film categories in the 28th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM28) and instead, created a new category called Best Film in the National Language category.

FINAS says the final nomination for the three cancelled categories would automatically be absorbed under the FFM28 Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay categories. - FILEpic
