The Royal Malaysian Police will not conduct an inquiry in relation to the payment of RM12 million for the release of four Malaysians abducted in Pulau Ligitan, Sabah last April.
The four sailors abducted on April 1 were Wong Teck Kang, 31; Wong Hung Sing, 34; Wong Teck Chii, 29; and Johnny Lau Jung Hien, 21.

PKR candidate for the Bekenu state seat in the Sarawak election last month, Bill Kayong, was shot dead in Miri.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad must contest and win in the general election to remain relevant in the political world, said Opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Abu Kassim ends service as MACC Chief Commissioner
Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed is to discontinue service as per his request as the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Aug 1, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.
Abu Kassim was appointed MACC chief commissioner on Jan 1, 2010.

FRIDAY, June 24:
British PM David Cameron resigns
Prime Minister David Cameron announced he will resign after Britons voted to leave the European Union despite his campaign to keep it in the bloc.
Cameron promised to try to "steady the ship" over the next months and did not give a precise timetable for his departure but said a new leader should be installed by early October.

UMNO sacks Muhyiddin, Mukhriz
The UMNO Supreme Council announced its decision to sack its deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and former Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the decision was made because the two leaders had shared the same stage with the Opposition and attacked the party's leadership.

SUNDAY, June 26:
Car bomb explodes in Sungai Golok
A car bomb exploded in Sungai Golok town, injuring two members of the public who were near the location of the incident, according to police in Thailand's restive southern province.
The car was believed to be carrying 50kg of bomb which exploded at about 6.10am local time (7.10am Malaysian time) near the police camp, market and some houses.
