The Jogohealth Stroke and Physiotherapy Center (Jogohealth) is offering free treatment to Awang Embong, the father of national cycling champion Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang who won the silver medal in the keirin event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics yesterday.

Its founder and advisor, Datuk T. Murugiah said Jogohealth is ready to bear all the costs of treatment, transportation from Terengganu and accommodation for Azizulhasni's father to seek treatment at the centre located in the capital.

He said that with the whole country sharing the joy of seeing the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) flying majestically in Tokyo, helping Azizulhasni's father who is bedridden due to a stroke, it was the best way for him to express his appreciation to the national hero.

"Azizulhasni's contributions and sacrifice in upholding the country's sports is invaluable. I was moved seeing Azizul crying and expressing on television that his father had a stroke a few days before he left for Tokyo. " he said in a statement.

Murugiah, who is also MIC vice president, when contacted, said that stroke treatment usually takes from a week to a month and a half.

The centre uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology specially brought from the United States, to provide stimulation to the brain and nerves.

Azizulhasni, the 2017 world champion, clinched the silver after overtaking current world champion from the Netherlands, Harrie Lavreysen before the finish line, while defending champion Jason Kenny, from Great Britain, who accelerated early managed to retain the gold medal.
