Speculation is rife that Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will be resigning from his position following a closed-door meeting between Parti Keadilan Rakyat, DAP and PAS leaders this morning.

The extraordinary meeting between top leaders from the parties is expected to discuss the fate of Abdul Khalid, who is in tremendous pressure to resign from his position.

His MB position is said to be eyed by the PKR’s number two man, Mohd Azmin Ali, former aide and close ally of the party president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to a source, the name of Abdul Khalid’s successor is still in wraps.

“Discussions are ongoing now. No official statement will be made today but Abdul Khalid is confirmed to be dropped,” the source revealed.

Rumours are rife that Abdul Khalid will be replaced by a state exco.
