KL police form task force to probe UPSR leaks
GAN: Urges those with information on the case to contact the nearest police station
The Kuala Lumpur police have formed a task force to investigate the leak in the Science and English Language question papers for the 2014 Primary School Achievement Test (UPSR).
KL Criminal Investigation Department head, SAC Gan Kong Meng said the setting up of the task force was to coordinate and expedite investigation of the case.
So far, only three police reports were lodged, two in Putrajaya and one in Johor, he told Bernama today.
The case is investigated under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act 1972 where anyone found guilty of the offence faces an imprisonment of up to seven years and fine.
Gan said the police had so far recorded three statements, but no arrest had been made.
The police are gathering evidence and working with the Malaysian Examination Board, as well as the relevant agencies in the investigation, he added.
He urged those with information to contact the nearest police station.
Yesterday, the Examinations Syndicate announced that pupils would have to resit the 2014 UPSR Science 018, 028 and 038 papers as well as the English Language 014/1 and 014/2 papers on Sept 30 following a leak in the question papers.
