The Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) commuter service will be extended until 1am on Sunday for the Merdeka Eve celebration.
The additional train service is only for the KL Sentral to Rawang, Putra to Sg Gadut, and Putra to Port Klang routes, according to a KTM statement here, Saturday.
"Six stations which have their operation hours extended are the Putra Station, Bank Negara, Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral, Mid Valley and Bandar Tasik Selatan specifically to provide transportation to members of the public celebrating the 'Merdeka Eve' celebration held in the vicinity of the federal capital such as the Dataran Merdeka, KLCC, Bukit Bintang and so on," the statement said.
Meanwhile, for those wishing to go to Dataran Merdeka to witness the National Day parade on Monday, the commuter service operations for all routes would begin as usual at 5.30am.
"Commuters are advised to buy the two-way ticket or use the Touch n' Go card to avoid congestion at the counter and ticketing machine when returning home," the statement said.
