Man dressed as woman arrested for stealing at surau

An ex-convict was arrested today for allegedly stealing from a victim praying at a woman's surau in a shopping complex in Bandar Sunway here.

The 21-year-old man who posed as a woman however was arrested by the security officers at the shopping complex.

Earlier, a victim who was praying at the surau realized that her purse was missing and went to lodge a report at the security beat of the shopping complex.

A security guard then informed the victim that the suspect had been arrested and the stolen items were taken to the Sunway Police Station.

Police found out that the suspect was a convicted felon who only recently had been released from the Kajang Prison.

Subang Jaya district police chief, Mohammad Azlin Sadari, who confirmed the incident said the suspect was remanded for four days until Wednesday.
