KUALA LUMPUR: A documentary about the journey of a fugitive businessman, Jho Low, will be shown in cinemas in the United States this September.
The documentary titled 'Man on The Run', will uncover the biggest money laundering scandal in the world, involving billions of ringgit from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), and will be shown in New York on September 22 and in Los Angeles on September 29.
Citing a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary was produced by The Smoking Section, in collaboration with Evergreen Media, and was directed by Cassius Michael Kim, who once produced the ABC News Nightline program, before making his name through the CNN Original Series titled The Wonder List with Bill Weir.
The documentary will feature an exclusive interview with former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence after being convicted of offenses related to the 1MDB.
Also making an appearance in the documentary, among others, is Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer which is currently on YouTube, shows the exclusive lifestyle of Jho Low, who is allegedly the mastermind of the 1MDB scandal, and how his extraordinary wealth is used to approach world-famous celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton and Jamie Foxx.
