Man who harassed LRT passenger arrested
The victim had complained of being harassed on the LRT train on Nov 8.
Auxiliary police special force (SAT) together with the Prasarana auxiliary police had detained the suspect in the LRT sexual harassment case.
The suspect, aged 44, was arrested at about 11.15am Sunday morning while he was onboard the Rapid KL bus route 770 from Subang Mewah to Pasar Seni.
The suspect was later taken to the SAT office for documentation and will be handed over to the Dang Wangi police.
Prasarana Group communication and strategic marketing chief Lim Jin Aun said the victim has also been notified of the arrest.
The victim had complained of being harassed on the LRT train on Nov 8 and the complaint had gone viral on the social media.
“We would like to thank all the parties involved who had given the information leading to the arrest,” Lim said.
He said anyone who had experienced such harassment should report the matter to the auxiliary police who are present at the stations.
