Merdeka eve celebrations moved to Bukit Jalil

The Merdeka eve celebrations, scheduled to take place at Dataran Merdeka Sunday, has been relocated to the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
Bersih 2.0 chairman, Maria Chin Abdullah confirmed this after meeting with Dang Wangi district police chief, ACP Zainol Samah here today.
"I held a discussion with the OCPD, and he said the 'Ambang Merdeka' celebrations, which will take place tonight, will be moved to Bukit Jalil.
"(Police) have not given a reason for the move. I think the relocation (Ambang Merdeka) is a wise move as we are holding the Bersih 4 rally here today.
"We (organisers) would like to express our deepest appreciation for the relocation of the Merdeka eve celebrations," Maria Chin said.
However, the Merdeka Day 2015 celebrations on Monday will proceed as scheduled.
Maria Chin added, police have not issued any permission allowing Bersih 4 to continue, but the rally will go on until midnight tonight.
