Malaysia Airlines has planned for the accommodation of the families of passengers on board the missing flight MH370 based on the assumption that the aircraft is found within seven days, said Malaysia Airlines’ Media Relations Manager, Khairunnisak Dzun Nurin.
However, she added, since the search for MH370 is now extended to a wider area, that due to the vagueness of time taken for the search and rescue operation, Malaysia Airlines is persuading the families to return home in the next few days.
Malaysia Airlines guarantees their support by establishing a Family Support Centre before the families returned home. This centre will be providing all family members with updates and current news on the missing MH370.
Besides updates via Malaysia Airlines’ website, brief updates will also be disseminated via SMS as well as a designated e-mail address for family members to further communicate with Malaysia Airlines.
Trained caregivers including Mandarin speaking personnel will also be stationed at the Family Support Centre for 24 hours a day, every day and every week.
Malaysia Airlines has also made it clear to the media, that equal amount of initial financial assistance are provided to all families of passengers.
For families who are planning to be in Malaysia during the search and rescue mission, Malaysia Airlines has arranged for all cost for travel, accommodation, meals and medical support to be absorbed by the airline.
In view of the overwhelming distress faced by family members in Beijing, the airlines is providing comfort and counselling to family members of the missing passengers and at the same time prepare them for all eventualities and possibilities. Family members are also given the core priority to valid information and updates on the missing aircraft before it gets to the media and the public.
Malaysia Airlines also guarantees that all services provided by its personnel are of high standards where each staff is professionally trained for the utmost demanding times.
Putting Beijing as a reference, where all staff has stepped up to the plate and volunteer themselves as caregivers, proves that Malaysia Airlines has taken and will continue to provide the best care in all aspects for each and every member affected by this traumatic ordeal.
